Sumas is a small border town about 23 miles north east of the City of Bellingham and just 8 miles east of Lynden. It's just a short distance from the foothills of the cascade mountain range and about an hour from the Mt. Baker ski area. This farming community has a population just around a 1,000 residents. Sumas is also the end of the road for the north to south Highway 9.
